Welcome to the Penn Northeast Conference

The United Church of Christ seeks to be:

  • united and uniting church
  • multiracial and multicultural church
  • church accessible to all
  • open and affirming church
  • peace with justice church

We are a community of faith that seeks to respond to the Gospel of Jesus Christ in word and deed. The UCC was founded in 1957 as the union of several different Christian traditions: from the beginning of our history, we were a church that affirmed the ideal that Christians did not always have to agree to live together in communion. Our motto—"that they may all be one"—is Jesus' prayer for the unity of the church. The UCC is one of the most diverse Christian churches in the United States.

No matter who you are or where you are on life’s journey, you are welcome here.

  • At this year’s Annual Meeting (April 13, 14, & 15, 2012 at Split Rock Lodge), we will be electing General Synod Delegates for the Class of 2015.  Elected delegates will represent the Penn Northeast Conference at the 2013 and the 2015 General Synods.  The 2013 General Synod is scheduled to be held in Long Beach, California.

If you would like to be nominated as a General Synod delegate or if you have someone in mind that you would like to nominate, either complete and submit the Nominating Committee form on this website http://pnec.org/leadership/NominationFORM.html or submit your names to Barbara Jennings at: barbaraj@pnec.org  To help make our delegation inclusive we need names of: laywomen, laymen, ordained women, ordained men, and people of all ages and backgrounds, particularly youth.  If you plan to nominate someone other than yourself, please check with them first to see if they are willing to be a delegate if elected.  Deadline to submit names is Tuesday, January 31, 2012.

In the past, the Conference has paid for delegate’s registration, transportation, housing, and a stipend for meals.  Due to increasing costs and decreasing resources, the Conference will still attempt to cover registration, housing costs, and a stipend towards transportation.  Delegates may have to help with their transportation costs and pay for their own meals.  Once the delegation is elected, we will meet to plan some fundraising activities to help cover the delegates expenses.

d expect, in a predictable, word-processor like manner. If you press return it just moves to the next line and doesn't create an uncontrollable space above or below. To start a new paragraph then press Return
